c'mon EO....I certainly don't LIKE either candidate of choice
some times it comes down to choosising the "lesser of 2 evils"
Think about it.......
and then think again.
and again if you have to.

Besides, liberal judges, though they would keep abortion legal, never seem to get the law correct....they try and meld what the Constitution and the Bill of Rights says with what they think it SHOULD mean.
What is going to happen is Roe v Wade will be overturned. That is inevitable. Then the states will start writing their own abortion laws, and people will challenge them, each individually, at the state level, and they will be determined to be unconstitutional. And the federal elected officials will probably never go further than banning partial birth abortions and stuff like that because it is a political death trap, no matter what side you are on, and they want it out of the federal government's hands. Some states will surely keep their laws (deep south) but the northeast and west coast and a few midwest states will eventually legalize it again, either thru lack of anti-abortion laws, or thru state supreme court decisions. So if it is my daughter who is knocked up and wants an abortion, she will not have to decide between back-alley hacks, she will be able to go to a doctor. Besides, there are enough drugs these days, and more coming, that home abortion is going to be simple enough in a few years.
Do you realize the vast majority of the American Population disagrees with you? Do you really want the federal government to decide what medical procedures you are allowed to have? Abortion is just one of them. Its a medical procedure. I feel medical procedures are the decision between the doctor and the patient. I also believe Dr. Kervorkian was right and should never have gone to jail.

Actually about half the population agrees with me, and the other half agree with you. So again you are wrong, about a vast majority being against me. I do not believe that abortion is a medical issue. It's a medical procedure that should be illegal.

For ten years, CBS/New York Times polls have found that about 55 percent of the population wants abortion either "illegal" or "under stricter limits than it is now" rather than "generally available."

sigh.....every time we really get warmed up on this issue it gets ugly......
there are several of us who feel very strongly (on BOTH sides of the issue)
aas it has come up several times over the years and I don't remember ANYONE having changed thier stance.....I ask.....
Clarke? Josh? is this gonna be worth it?

I think where you and I differ on this matter is that I do not think John McCain has any more chance than either of my write in canidates.
I look at the electoral map and see Obama Bin Biden getting 380 to 411 electoral votes with McLame Palin totalling less than 190
It is going to be the largest electoral margin since Reagan beat Carter 489 to 44
heck with the stories already floating about the how racist America is if they do not elect Obama and the potential for mass rioting and looting
at least when I write in Romney Hunter the party will know what ticket I want to see in 2012

if you just count the swing state map the DEMS are already a head
238 to 189
of the states suggested to be undecided
Iowa LOCK for Obama 245
Virginia LOCK for Obama 258
Nevada LOCK for Obama 263
New Mexico LOCK for Obama 268
so the DEMS then need 2 electoral votes to secure the Presidency
Minnesota will be blue 278
New Hampshire blue 282
but here is the VERY VERY ugly thing you are going to see that makes it BAD REALLY REALLY BAD
Georgia 297
Louisiana 306
Alabama 315
Mississippi 321
now you are looking at not only a DEM victory, but a 321 to 150 margin and Obama upsets in red states BEFORE the WEST COAST closes. Traditionally the west coast voters refuse to vote for a loser so they #1 stay home or #2 vote for the winner
Idaho flips 325
Utah (who is VERY angry with McCain anyway) 330
ARIZONA where the Governor has declared war on McCain 340
some even if McCain could win Ohio, Missouri, and Colorado (2 of which I do not think he can)
you see a 351 to 187 BLUE win
and that is if Obama does not steal NC, Nebraska, and Arkansas all of which I think he will (376 to 162)
you know Vegas has had to change the odds on Obama three times since the Palin announcement because they cannot get anyone to vote on McCain.
It is going to be a BLOOD BATH
as for your 8 to 15% in Texas; fellow clerks and elections administrators in Harris (Houston), Dallas (Dallas), El Paso (El Paso), Travis (Austin) and Bexar (San Antonio) already anticipate 100% Democrat control in congress, and the state house and at least 3 counties predict Obama wins heavily (Harris, Travis, Bexar).
So what then man, if Obama wins Texas
Obama will win and with a margin large enough to be declared a MANDATE
The DEMs will take 60% of more of the House
23 GoP senate seats (of 49) are up
expect GoPers
Sessions in Alabama
Stevens in Alaska
Coleman in Minnesota
Wicker in Mississppi
Sununu in New Hampshire
Dole in North Carolina
all to be a lock to lose their seats
giving the DEMs a 5 vote majority EVEN AFTER they refuse to let Lieberman caucus with them any more.
also to be lost is the seat Hagel is vacating
I mean we are looking at a complete blue team domination of damn near epic proportions.
Sununu is already cutting spending in anticipation of losing.
Real Clear is not shooting you straight if that is what they are saying
