Steeler fans should never worry about the schedule. Other teams should worry about having to play the Steelers.

Actually, I know that I am in the minority here, but as good as I thought he was 5 years ago, to see how quickly and how far he dropped, I am still in shock. I loved watching this cat play and will miss him, though I have not seen him really play since 2004, at least not the Culpepper I remember.

well... saying I will miss him is a bit of a stretch... but I will agree that it is shocking how far he has dropped. I am nearly equally shocked to see Leftwich where he is right now as well, actually.

Well, Culpepper was the guy I WISHED the Eagles had drafted in lieu of McNabb up until 2005. I really thought that guy was a future Hall of Famer. I loved watching him play. He could take a hit, and as the guy bounced off him, pitch a strike in the perfect spot for a big gain or score....of course, Randy Moss helped him, but I don't know by how much. He only had a half a season in his career without him that he was healthy. You can argue that Moss made him, that he never did anything without him, but since he blew out his knee 7 or 8 games into his post Moss career, that would be a really unfair and unjustified statement.
If I can quote, though I don't think it was his fault, but Calogero's line to Sonny, as Sonny lay in his coffin....."wasted talent".

http://www.autumnthunder.com/forums/nfl-news/28592-daunte-culpepper-retires.html
"I would rather shut the door to such 'opportunity' than continue to wait for one of my fellow quarterbacks to suffer a serious injury. Since I was not given a fair chance to come in and compete for a job, I would rather move on and win in other arenas of life."
I like that......

unlike Favre (who may have won his 4th MVP yesterday) however Culpepper should have stayed his fat, lazy, non defense reading arse retired.
