Did not see much of the game, but again, who have they beaten? How many wins have their opponents had? I think they are a combined 2-9, and one of those wins was a gift from the fat man. No, I don't see that they are that impressive. Of course you can say the same thing about the Eagles too. They have beaten bad 49ers and Texans teams, and threw away a game against a bad Giants team. So I cannot hold that against Seattle too much, as you can only beat the teams on your schedule. But the fact is calling any team the best at anything this early in the year when you fail your only test is kind of pointless. Prior to last week you could have said the Falcons were the best in the NFC. Prior to yesterday you might have said the Saints were. Lets hold all anointments until around midseason. Heck, I won't even count out Dallas yet who I still think could be the team to beat in the NFC.

all that might be true but if the NFC playoffs go through Solide field in January, color them over and at 4 and 0 with a softer schedule than the East and the South remaining something drastic would have to happen for that not to come true.

Bears have a very favorable schedule due to the division they are in, but heck, the same could have been said about the Eagles 2 and 3 years ago. Bears will be a 1st week bye in the playoffs, that I don't doubt, unless Grossman goes down and Griese goes down and they are stuck with that other guy.

I know Bears fans that still swear "that other guy" is the best QB on the roster. A few Purdue fans think that too. Kyle Orton BTW is his name.
If Grossman is up right the Bears are not just a good team with a GREAT defense, but a force on offense as well.

I know this might sound crazy, but Grossman's injuries may have been the best thing to happen to him. the guy seems pretty smart. that being the case, he had nothing but time on his hands to become one with the the playbook. and by the time he gets to hit the field, hopefully for the long haul for once... the guy knows the plays in and out.
that could make... and so far, seems to have made... him pretty darn dangerous.

Orton is 3rd best. Griese is better. Grossman is better. Heck, Bobby Hoying might be better.

from 1996 to 2005 27 teams have started 4-0 and none have them have ever slipped off to finish below .500 and on one team (SD 2002) slipped to .500.

That is fine for the NFC (.500), but won't cut it in the AFC, where 10-6 could mean no playoffs

87 points total margin of victory so far that is HUGE for a defense first team
