NFL Something different

This week the NFL and it's fans will experience something new

John Madden will break a 476 week streak of calling NFL games.

Madden of course refuses to fly so he must make trips cross country via bus.

from his west coast home to Jacksonville, to San Diego, and this week would have been back to Tampa, then home to the Bay again for the SNF off week.

so instead of those grueling trips Madden will take this week off and spend the next two weeks at home

then return after the SNF off week.

Chris Collingsworth will fill in for Madden in the booth with Al Micheals.

72 years old all that travel is hard, but this idea was suggested to him by Embersol when the Sunday night schedule came out.

I assume really soon John Madden will do like Pat Summeral and Keith Jackson before him and only do regional games.

Summeral got to where he only did Dallas and Dallas area colleges

Jackson got to only do west coast, then only USC

Madden probably will only do 49ers, chargers, raiders, and the new LA team at some point and probably a playoff game or two

Eventually he will retire

EA sports supposedily has a plan (rumor had Madden football becoming Favre football NFL football)

NBC also was rumored to have a Favre related plan that would have seen #4 do three games this year (maybe this one?). I assume this is Ebersol trying out Collingsworth in case Favre extends his career.
