2008-2009 Football Pools

It’s that time of year once again. Once again I will be running 2 pools this year. This year there are some rule changes you should be aware of, so please read the entire email, especially the payment policies. As always, this pool is open to anyone, so please feel free to invite friends and family to join in the fun.

All players get an automatic invite to the Super bowl Squares Pool. This pool is limited to 100 squares so it is first come first serve. Joining either of the yearly pools get’s you at least one guaranteed square if you want it.




NOTE: All fees for the NFL-Pick’em pool must be paid prior to week 3 starting (NO LATER THAN SEPT 20th). Failure to pay by then and you will be deleted from the pool. Once you are deleted, you cannot be reinstated even if you do pay.

NOTE: All fees for the Survivor pool must be paid prior to week 1 starting (NO LATER THAN SEPT 7h at 1:00 PM ET). Failure to pay by then and you will be deleted from the pool. Once you are deleted, you cannot be reinstated even if you do pay.

I hate to be a stickler on this, but it is just too much working chasing people down to pay at the end of the year not to mention winners having to wait for their winnings.



NFL-Pick’em 2008:

1. You are limited to using the auto-pick feature 3 times, after the third use failure to make your picks will result in getting zero points for that week.
2. PLEASE USE YOUR REAL NAME WHEN SIGNING UP. It saves me a ton of time trying to figure out who’s paid and who’s cheap. If I cannot figure out who you are when I receive your payment, you risk being deleted from the pool. Once you are deleted, you cannot be reinstated. This is a software limitation.
3. All fees paid are non-refundable. Don’t even bother asking for your money back after you have made your picks the first week.
4. This year we will be dropping 2 weeks from your total score. These are your 2 worst weeks.
5. Cost is $25 for the season (1st, 2nd and 3rd place paid at the end of the season).
6. Pick deadline is Sunday 1:00 PM ET, 12:00 PM CT, 11:00 AM MT and 10:00 AM PT. If there are games prior to Sunday, you must make all of your picks prior to the 1st game of the week starting. You are allowed to make changes to any game that has not started up until the Sunday deadline of 1:00 PM ET.

The other pool, which was wildly popular last year, is the Survivor pool. To play is simple, pick one team to win each week. If that team wins, you move on to the next week. If that team loses, you’re out!

Rules:

1. Pick one team each week to win.
2. You can pick each team only 2 times throughout the season
3. If you forget to make a pick, the site will auto-pick for you. You are allowed 1 auto-pick for the season. Forget a second time and you’re out.
4. Cost is $20 for the season (Winner takes all).
5. Pick deadline is Sunday 1:00 PM ET, 12:00 PM CT, 11:00 AM MT and 10:00 AM PT. If there are games prior to Sunday, you must make your pick prior to the 1st game of the week starting.
