matter of time before the NFL gets to LA (possibly Jacksonville real soon the way the owners is shopping)
if it is going to work it has to be...
in a location deamed attractive and safe (the Collesium is in one of the worse crime areas in LA)
in a stadium NOT shared with a baseball team or a college (the Collesium's #1 tenant will always be USC unless they lose them)
a place upscale enough to bring the movie moguls, cocaine and boob jobbers, and the idle rich out (the Collesium is not a place Jack Nicholson is goign to ever go)

I propose gladiator fights! Just like in the real Coliseam! Fights to the death! And how about Lions against Muslims.....okay, it is a slight variation to the original theme, but I think it is an improvement. And when we run out of them, we can toss in liberals from Berkley against the lions. I think that would sell out more often than any NFL team or USC team could. Great cash cow! And you don't have to pay at least half the performers....or the lions!

The San Fransico 49ers owner has notified the mayor of San Fran that the team will be leaving the City witht he intention of relocating "somewhere else" in California.
We now know who is going to be the new team in Los Angeles.
Do you think they become maybe the California 49ers?

I guess he was trying to keep his options open?
Seems very vague for the whole world to know where he is going

But what about my proposed Gladiator fights?
I propose they rename them the Miner 49ers, or the California Raisins.

Could just call them the California Gold. Leaves the 49ers name for San Fran, just like the Brownies got.

I am pretty sure a small number of residents care at all about NFL football in LA, the league, the TV networks, and the other owners however care a whole lot.
I was personally really hoping for the Jags to move there because their history is short and with out luster.
Moving the 49ers, a team with just a glourious past and rich history kind of sucks.
Maybe the City of SF will sue to retain the history and name like Cleveland did and Jacksonville can move there?
