cannot eat shell fish myself but the wife loves shrimp fajitas
and the best thing about fajitas of any kind as the left overs lend themselves VERY well to an omelets or even nachos the next day

yeah... I am allergic to shellfish myself... but my wife loves the stuff, so I still cook it a lot anyway.
although, for some reason, I can eat scallops without issue. go figure.

Re: My Super Bowl Party
I LOVE sauasage and gravy over biscuits, I could eat them every damn day for every meal
I love grits and unsoaked salt cured ham
you take the grease from the ham and drop just a little bit of coffee in there to make a thin gravy, then put that gravy in the grits (or rice if you are a non-grits eater)
man that stuff is good

you just take the cooked sausage, a little grease, flour, and milk and mix it in the skillet
but know a days they have the quick fixes too
I find both to be good enough to eat regularly, not as good as my momma's or my aunt Betty's but better than my wife makes
I prefer the Pioneer usually
I think libby's has one in a can, but I did not like it

when making the gravy play it easy with the flour or you will end up with something more like glue than gravy. I speak from experience
back to what I was telling Rich
make the family some fajitas Friday night and then use the left over onion, peppers, and meat for omelets the next day
not only is it economical it is good, the peppers cook in the egg better after being in the fridge over night

When I was 13, I developed an allergy to Apples. It was the fall, we had apples in our yard, ate applesauce, apple pie, apples by themselves, and alot of other things with apples in them. Bassically overlaoded myself, developed an allergic reaction and my throat closed shut so I could not swallow. It was a close one. Now I can have all the apples I want and it is not a problem.
On the sausage gravy. Use some ground sausage, like 1/2 lb, and cook it up loose (not packed into a patty). When it is cooked so the pink is gone on the inside, add a little milk and flour to the sausage and grease. A little at a time to work up to the right consistancy. With practice you will get it down.

exactly...AND you cant stop stirring it till it's done......
EO is right...some of the mixes are certainly passable....
(look in the spices area of your local store...they are sometimes found there)....and use more milk than their recipes call for....(most call for just water...i use 1/2 milk, 1/2 water...AGAIN...don't stop stirring)
