Do not worry niether Obama or Gore can beat Hillary, unless the Donkeys decide that she would motivate 5 million disinfranchised Elephants to work for her demise.

growing number of my consultant buddies are thinking Thompson will never declare.

there is a ground swell already about how young his wife is and how that might not play with female voters.

a couple of small Iowa papers have ran with the Lori Morgan dating that might have began before he and his first wife were done.

and his health thing is not scoring well everywhere

be interesting to see what happens

one guy I spoke with today from the old Bush Michigan/Florida team suggest the only GoP ticket that can win versus the expected Gore/Obama ticket* is Giuliani/Hunter because it is the only combo that makes the Dems spend heavy in New York and California. Two states the Dem can basically ignore and still win under a Thompson/Romney ticket

Default *Gore/Obama

As I mentioned in the other thread some of my consultant buddies are saying that the Dems most viable ticket is Gore/Obama

Hillary is a magnet for GoP voters (who might other wise stay home) and it sounds like some senior party officals know that and would like to ease her out of contention. What I hear is originally they thought Edwards could do it but his floundering in the polls might force Al Gore into the mix.

If this scenario sets up to go down expect Edwards to re-think his choice about his wives illness and with draw. This scenario very likely ends up with Edwards as the Att. General.

note all this is rumors but these same guys were sitting around with me in Arlington telling me how the owner of the Texas Rangers would be President one day.

Who the hell thinks Gore Obama is unbeatable?
as I illuded to in my last post some senior GoP consultants do

I guess I was pretty off on Gore's sphere of influence

a minor curve ball comes out as Mayor Bloomberg switches from the GoP to Independant which almost certainly means 3 canidates from New York.

this hurts Giuliani more than Hillary but it certainly does not help either

Bloomberg is less of a Rep than Giuliani is. Pro abortion, pro gay marriage, pro gun control, pro stem cell research, etc, etc, etc. Though this may hurt both the Dems and Reps, I think it will take more from the Dems, given he was a life long Dem prior to switching to run for Mayor 6 years ago to ride the Bush/Giuliani wave. His policies and views more closely align with the left.

Bloomberg now says he is not running for President in 2008 which gives every indication to me he intends to line himself up for Hillary's vacant senate seat should she win.

Which almost certainly means he will endorse Hillary for President.

Continuing to trail Giuliani and Romney in fund raising with less than 2 million spendable funds McCain's camp looks to be running out of steam.
