Yes, he is sick.....but is it a sign of the tension and tenor of this election.....
Vote McCain......he may not be a GOOD choice......
but i'm telling you.....
he's the better choice.....

becks... I wanted to clarify.
yes, it is a sign of tension and tenor in this election. you know what? that would be there no matter what, the second a black person ran for office, irregardless of party. I am not saying by anyone here... just this country in general. it is the way it is here. until that barrier is broken, it remains a barrier, even if most of us feel it isn't, and other of us say it isn't, even though they do not mean it.
I am also not trying to convince anyone here that they should vote for Obama. obviously, I know NO ONE here would even remotely consider such a thing. let's be real here... the membership here is pretty much right. which is fine. and I have no argument on your opinion that McCain is the right choice. if that is what you believe, you will vote that way. it is our right in this country. that's what makes this country great. we can vote how we want, and should be able to do so without fear of retaliation.
but to suggest this woman's attack should dictate who people should vote for... to me, that is a bit out of bounds. that's all.

The fact that the media would run with a bogus story and do little to report this one, is what we have a problem with. Not Obama himself.
|
josh... I agree with the media thing. that is not what was being said that I was referring to, though, if you read my posts. I was responding to the suggestion that this attack means vote McCain... that's all.
the reason why I ridicule Palin is because unacceptable chants were being made at her rally, while she spoke. that is different. if this attack was turned around, neither McCain or Palin would owe anyone any explanation because some psycho attacked an innocent person. I am just saying that what McCain did at his rally, imo, was the right thing to do... to stop folks from inciting accusations that were not tied to the issues. I respected what McCain did in that situation, and did not like Palin's non-reaction in that situation.
to me, these are two entirely different kinds of incidents.
I know no one here agrees, so that is fine. I am only saying this in response to the suggestion that this attack should dictate who people should vote for... that was my only point. was not my inent to ruffle any feathers by it.

if you think Obama is a socialist, fine. don't vote for him.
if you think he is going to be weak and friendly to terrorists, fine... don't vote for him.
if you think his policies are communist, then whatever... fine... don't vote for him.
but to not vote for anybody, because some random person attacked another person? I don't understand that thinking specifically. I bet if some extreme right whack job attacked an Obama supporter, you guys would not be saying "that is a travesty... we should not vote for Obama". I am sure you would still condemn the vile act that was done... don't get me wrong. but to suggest that is reason to not vote for a candidate is silly, imo. not that specific reason. it has nothing to do with the race.

Rich, I never said Obama had anything to do or whatever about that woman being attacked. I was responding to the lies about the so called "kill Obama" statement that wasn't proven. Yes, I say don't vote for Obama because I believe his policies are out of the Socialist handbook.

I'll find the link to it later... they are pushing a security patch that will reboot my PC soon, and honestly, I really do not feel like going over that whole conversation again.
my only point... again... is I fail to see how this attack should dictate who one should vote for. that is all I am trying to say. I completely agree about the media aspect of this conversation. if no one here understands what, to me, seems like a perfectly acceptable point, then I will drop it, because it is tiring to be the only one against everyone else, in any attempt to discuss these things. I simply do not possess the tools to do it in solo fashion... and since I am the only one here who does not think Obama = the end of the world as we know it, I will just get back in my place and shut up. Quite frankly, as I have suggested many times, it is not as if I am anyone's intellectual equal here in the political arena anyway. so if you guys all think that this woman's attack means vote McCain... than congrats and have at it. sorry for saying anything.

Re: Election 2008
two McCain Palin votes in Texas
my wife and I have both cast our ballots for the GoP
me with two fingers on my nose, her happily
for a conservative working mother of three (like my wife) Sarah Palin is a reason to vote. I think I have under estimated her standing in those circles
