I have seen catholic, baptist, and methodist churches put 50 in a bus on Sunday afternoon soon as service lets out, drive them to the poll, hand them "example ballot" prefilled out or even easier spend the entire drive telling them how easy it is to just punch straight ticket, then drive them back to church where you feed them a prepared lunch, and take the next group.
Of course I doubt the baptist Sunday church vote drives will be as kind to the GoP this year.

why the baptists, specifically? just curious.

Because they, like Republicans, also want children to be stupid and for old people to die.

And don't forget that they are in favor of dirty air and dirty water like Republicans.

well in my neck of the woods for every 1 super large baptist church of mixed races, there are 5 uber larger baptist churches that are 100% black
I remember it being much the same when we lived in North Carolina, Georgia, and South Carolina.
Now I do not think every member of a black baptist church will vote 100% for Obama, but I do think the percentages will be in high 90s.
In politics we call 90% voter blocks like that ONE ITEM voter and traditionally ONE ITEM voters are encouraged by (the voter driver, the pastor, the community organizer, etc) to punch straight ticket
punching straight ticket both makes it easier on the voter to remember things but it is also used as a way to speed large groups of voters through the line
if you send 25 voters in to vote and they all punch straight ticket you are out in less than an hour to pick up the next group
if you send in 25 voters to read the entire ballot and vote each item you are not only losing time, but you voters are goign to be belly aching about how long it took which discourages future groups
Here we are predicting that such a large number of ONE ITEM voters is goign to get a lot of down ballot democrats that did not have a chance elected in Texas.
I assume that will be true EVERYWHERE

Re: Election 2008
I meant to put a disclaimer on the 2nd link...obviously the interviewer spoke to many people and put the ones on that painted the worst picture. I only wanted this up because I am tired of hearing the media discuss racism in the election and act like its only on 1 side. Its on both.
Plus, it was actually a funny bit.
