I don't like being dependent upon it, but I'm also not interested in giving up the territory we already have. And as long as we have men and women here willing to volunteer themselves, albiet for pay, then I say we dig in and defend it.

This is a seriously compelling read regarding the effect of water vapor on the atmosphere... and I now wonder... is creating fuel cell cars that emit water vapor REALLY a good idea? I am not thinking we need to spend more resources in truly understanding what we think we know about greenhouse effect, before we start trying to solve it... here is the article:
http://physicsworld.com/cws/article/print/17402
that said... my bigger concern is the cost of fuel. but as it pertains to greenhouse gases, this issue, that the Dems have hung their hats on, certainly does appear to have lots of smoke and mirrors attached to it. interesting.

I am not interested in spending billions of dollars on a solution for something we think we know, when so many scientists are saying we know nothing.

my point exactly... meaning, we need to research this more to make sure the solution we find, does not need a solution 20 years from now.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. I want us dependent on our own oil. I am tired of the middle east.

I am not saying they are not feasible... don't get me wrong. it is just that for my ability to digest them, they seem so very doomsday related. I may obviously just be missing the boat here.

What you have to look at Rich, is what is "Ozone" It is made in the upper atmosphere by braking down the oxygen in the gases that reach it. Carbon Dioxide contains twice as much oxygen than Carbon Monoxide. So Carbon Dioxide would be worse, assuming it is emmited at the same volume as Carbon Monoxide.
Heard on the radio yesterday, that Al Gore installed a bunch of energy saving devices in his home last year, and is now using ten percent more energy. Hard to figure.

actually, since I made this post, I read information that suggests water vapor is dangerous to the ozone layer... so frankly, this is all very confusing, and bears more research.

Until they come up with an alternative fuel using semi truck prices on all goods and services will continue to rise for as long as gas is as expensive as it is.

and as eo alluded to... even with the fuel cell car, we need to be cautious. if water vapor is dangerous to the ozone layer, do we want to producing it at a high volume? I too want an fossil fuel alternative... my reasons, are also due to fuels costs... not being "green". I do try to be green where I can, by recycling and such, as I do not see how it can hurt... but by no stretch am I a "greenhouse gas" fanatic.

And here I thought the whole photosynthesis thing was about the tree's creating oxygen for us to breathe from carbon dioxide, water vapor, and sunlight.
