While tradtional thinking would have them take the second team from the Big 10 BUT USC versus Ohio State not only brings in a 2 loss team it creates a lop sided rematch if you remember USC beat the snot out of Ohio State already 35-3.
It would be easier for the Rose Bowl to sell tickets to a USC versus Texas rematch of a former National Title game than try to get people to watch USC skull screw Ohio State again.
Plus a USC win over Texas gives them more spring to the top of the final poll, than another beating of Ohio State would. Considering USC alumni and the Rose Bowl are the same people. A PSU win and a USC defeat of Texas probably makes USC #2 to end the season.

I hate this computer system crap!..I don't care who is in what conference..who beat who..all I know is..PSU was number 3...the number 1 team got beat...by the number 7 team..and PSU remained number 3...a 7 team jumped 5 spots....sorry...my opinion stands...Penn State got fucked...don't care who thinks what conferece is better..and so on...again..hate the system.
