go from a demi God walking around as a young player on the verge of being a starter in the NFL
to being a guy laying on a table kept alive by tubes, while they sedate you to prevent any movement until they can fix you.
I hope the guys pulls through with flying colors. I hope someone buys him a copy of "Wings of Eagles" and lets him know life does not end her for him.

you help me see the line between the research and a real life happening like the movie the island and maybe I can go there, but the idea of creating human life to take it is something I can barely stomach writing about.

Kevan Everett showing movement in his arms and legs. A very good sign!

Good for him...I was watching that game when it happened and you just knew something was wrong went he went limp during the tackle.
Now maybe all those media outlets that hyped it that he wasn't ever going to walk again will eat some crow...

While the media did hype it, that was because the Dr stated it was bleek. Even if he can't play any more, if he continues to improve that is great news.

Yeah, the problem I had was that a doctor always gives a worst case scenario and it shouldn't have been reported with a grain of salt.
Instead, some of these media types wrote it as truth. At least give the guy a chance and let him get into surgery before saying he's gonna be a parapalegic for the rest of his life...But sensationalist media is what sells I guess...
/just disappointed by the pass-it-on media mentality...

The guy laid on the ground for a long time without movement being evident. He is hauled away in an abulance. Of course the media is going to report on it because of the visibilty it has already received. The doctor removed bone fragments during the surgery, and swelling was evident. I don't blame the doc for a bleak report. Even though this guy has moved his extremities, he is not up walking around nor will he likely be back playing football again. This is not a story the media purposely twisted to sell news. I despise the media, but I am not finding alot of fault with them on this.

I know it was devastating to see, but the nightly news here (and a few other media outlets) practically claimed that the man's life was over.
AND, it was constantly reported. Like, every five minutes, constantly. I just got to the point where I was tired of hearing about it. Just let them do the surgery and report the outcome. I want to know if he's going to be alright. There was just a lot of guestimation and people were using the doc's words as truths.
It'll be a long time for him to recover, but the jumping to conclusions by uneducated "professionals" drives me bonkers. I should be used to it by now, but I'm not...
