CP has said he wants T.O. and is willing to sign him.
Yesterday, Chiefs president Carl Peterson told the Kansas City Star he would take Owens, but only in a bare-bones, 1-year deal. It's hard to say for sure, but Owens, 32, might have to take such a contract to try to rebuild his reputation.

I think your right Clarke
I could see a tug of war between the two biggest egos on the block. But then steps in Big AL. Trades for Daunte and grabs T.O. for grins and giggles. Then he has a healthy Moss and Owens on the same team with his down the field QB

The Raiders backed out of the deal for Cpep. The Vikings want a 2nd round pick. Oakland wants him but for less.

Owens was spotted in the KC area. He is said to be shopping for a house with a large enough driveway to hold all of the local and some national media. The driveway must be paved with no stones. Asked why, Owens was quoted " because stones hurt my's back when I does me sit ups. Now don't talk to me unless I talk to you first"

Chiefs get below the salary cap
While teams scurried to fly free agents in and out of town over the weekend, the Chiefs had a quiet start to the period. President/general manager Carl Peterson said he didn’t anticipate the club being active at the start of free-agency.
By late Friday, Kansas City was under the salary cap with help from running back Priest Holmes and lineman Chris Bober, who restructured their contracts.
In other Chiefs news, former Panthers long snapper Adam Johnson has been added to the roster. Ed Perry, picked up in 2005 to replace injured snapper Kendall Gammon, is not on the roster.
